Dr. Knight holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and a medical degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He completed his residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Letterman Medical Center at University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Knight then served as Assistant Chief, General Surgery, and Assistant Chief, Cardiothoracic Surgery, at Letterman Medical Center. During the Gulf War, Dr. Knight performed general and thoracic surgery with the 475th MASH throughout Saudi Arabia and Iraq. After two years as Chief of Cardiac Surgery and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Dr. Knight worked in private practice with Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. He joined Alamo City Cardiovascular Surgeons in 1999. Dr. Knight belongs to a number of professional organizations including the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and is a long-term member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He is board certified in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.
