Dr. James Davies is a highly skilled eye surgeon who has provided exceptional care to his national and international patients for more than 25 years. Experienced in a wide range of procedures, such as corneal and anterior segment eye surgery, corneal laser refractive surgery, and cataract surgery.
Dr. Davies graduated from Brigham Young University with High Honors of Distinction and with the University Scholar designation, and was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
He returned to his home state of Michigan and attended medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine. His medical internship and ophthalmology residency were completed at Sinai Hospital of Detroit (now the Kresge Eye Institute) where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Davies has performed over 13,300 cataract surgeries. He has implanted over 1500 Crystalens accommodating lens implants with outstanding results. He is a leader in new technological advances, becoming the first surgeon in San Diego to implant the Crystalens in 2003. He has since been a part of many studies, becoming the Lead Investigator for the Crystalens HD100 and HD 500 studies, and sits on the Medical Advisory Board for Bausch + Lomb Surgical. Dr. Davies has trained numerous eye surgeons and has presented at ophthalmic meetings around the world.
