Dr. Lanig has been at Craig Hospital since 1989 and directs one of the spinal cord injury teams. She received her medical degree and completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Lanig currently is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation. She has authored several chapters on topics in spinal cord injury and was lead author with other Craig staff on a textbook on Health Promotion and SCI. Dr. Lanig is the current President of the American Paraplegia Society (APS), a national SCI scientific association of approximately 450 clinicians, neuroscientists, and researchers. She has served on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Paralyzed Veterans of America Spinal Cord Research Foundation. Dr. Lanig has a sub-specialty certification in SCI by the Board of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Lanig was the recipient of the 2005 Baylor College of Medicine/University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Alliance Distinguished Alumnus Award.
