Dr. Gilmer-Hill is board certified and is an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed an internship in general surgery, followed by a residency in neurological surgeries at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. She also completed fellowships in peripheral nerve surgery at Louisiana State University Medical Center, and pediatric neurosurgery at Children's Hospital of Michigan. She specializes in hydrocephalus, neurooncology, craniofacial reconstruction, pediatric neurosurgery, and pediatric and adult peripheral nerve surgeries. Dr. Gilmer-Hill was named one of the areas Top Docs 2007 and 2008 by Hour Detroit magazine. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the Michigan State Medical Society, the Wayne County Medical Society, the National Medical Association, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Society for Neuro-Oncology, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Women in Neurosurgery, the Detroit Medical Society and the Hydrocephalus Association.
