Harvey Monitjo, MD Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon Total Joint Replacement Specialist Harvey Monitjo, MD is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and Total Hip and Knee Joint Replacement Specialist. Dr. Monitjo has an extensive knowledge in the latest surgical techniques and trains surgeons around the World, as well as in the United States. He serves as the Medical Director of Total Joint Center at Wellington Regional Medical Center, Member of the Board of Directors of Wellington Medical Regional Center, Co-Founder of International Arthroplasty Institute, Member of the Board of Directors of Florida Bank, CEO of Palms Wellington Surgical Center, and Chairman Iberio American Medical Association. Dr. Monitjo earned his Medical Degree from the University of Puerto Rico. A Veteran Major of the US Army, he completed his Surgery Internship and Orthopaedic Surgery Service at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Ft. Gordon, GA. Dr. Monitjo academic achievements honored as he was a member of the Dean’s List as a student. At the same time, he was a four-year Judo State Champion in Puerto Rico and a Gold and Bronze Medal Winner at the Judo Central American Games. Dr. Monitjo is a Member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Association, Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons, Palm Beach County Medical Society, Honorary Member, Panama Orthopaedic Society, Latin American Medical Association, and Florida Orthopaedic Society of Palm Beach County. Dr. Monitjo’s research is published in several peer-reviewed medical journals, and he is a sought after national and international presenter. In his leisure time, Dr. Monitjo enjoys jogging, weight lifting, and golf.
