Dr. Gregory S. Vance
Dr Gregory S. Vance is a native of Pike County, Kentucky, and graduated in 1995 from Pikeville College with a B.S. in both Chemistry and Biology. He then attended dental school at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in May of 2000. He continued his training at Louisville, where he completed his 3-year residency in periodontics and received both a Certificate is Periodontics and a Master's of Science degree in Periodontics. His extensive research focus was bone grafting and he wrote his thesis on this topic.
Dr. Vance is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, meaning his is a Board-Certified Periodontist. Less than 50% of practicing periodontists are currently Board Certified. This means that he has taken written, oral, and clinical tests that attest that he has attained the highest level of acknowledgement that a periodontist can receive. You can be assured that when you are being treated by a board-certified periodontist, you are being treated by someone who is proven to be an expert in their field, whether it be treating periodontal disease, treating gum recession, regenerating lost bone, or placing dental implants.
