Gregory S. Charak, M.D., PhD, is a fellowship-trained, board certified colorectal surgeon who has recently joined Hackensack Meridian Medical Group at Palisades Medical Center. Dr. Charak has expertise in colorectal related conditions and is supported by a dedicated, highly trained care team.
Prior to joining HMH, Dr. Charak served as a Colon and Rectal Staff Surgeon at both the University of Kentucky Medical Center and the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he distinguished himself as a surgical educator.Dr Charak received the Recognition of Excellence in Medical Student and Resident Teaching award in 2020 and 2022. Dr. Charak has conducted research on topics ranging from surgical education to perioperative care of ostomy reversal. He is an active member of the Association of Surgical Education, American Society of Colorectal Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.
