Dr. Sorrells finished his undergraduate work at Indiana University in 1959, and graduated from Indiana University Medical School in 1962. He was an intern at Hurled Hospital in Flint Michigan and completed his pediatric residency at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. Dr. Sorrells served as a staff physician at the Bedford Regional Medical Center in Bedford, Indiana from 1965-1993. From 1993 until 1997, Dr. Sorrells had his own private practice in Bedford. In 1997, Dr. Sorrells joined Southern Indiana Pediatrics. Dr. Sorrells is on the visiting clinical staff at Riley Hospital. He is currently a trustee of the First Christian Church in Bedford. He is a founding and current member of the Mitchell Community School Scholarship Foundation. He is a member of the Clinical Advisory Committee of the State's Hoosier Health Wise Program. Memberships include American Medical Association, Indian State Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Doctor Sorrells and wife have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. He and his wife live on a farm near Mitchell. He enjoys attending medical post graduate meetings, occasional travel and working on the farm.
