George Bobustuc, MD, is board certified in neurology and serves as section chief of the Neuro-Oncology Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando.
Dr. Bobustuc received his medical degree from Carol Davila Medical School in Bucharest, Romania. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Titan Hospital in Bucharest. He served as a resident in the Department of Surgery at Municipal Hospital in Bucharest, which was followed by a residency in psychiatry at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Bobustuc then completed a residency in neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He completed a fellowship in neuro-oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Currently, Dr. Bobustuc has been working on several projects focusing on brain, breast and pancreatic cancer. He has numerous publications in well-known journals, including the Journal of Neuroimaging, as well as published book chapters. He has one patent in method and composition for enhancing PGE1 production in vascular endothelial and smooth muscle cells.
In 2003, Dr. Bobustuc received the American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award. Dr. Bobustuc has also been recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America from 2007 to 2009. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Society for Neuro-Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research.
