Dr. George MacMaster founded Alpharetta Children's Dentistry in a small office on Alpha Court in 1989. It has grown into a practice that takes pride in providing the best possible care for all children, from newborn through college. Dr. Mac and his colleagues share in the belief that creating a positive experience and making a child feel comfortable is the ultimate goal of this practice. Dr. Mac attended dental school at the Medical College of Georgia and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Florida. He enjoys amusing the patients and staff with his unique brand of humor and can often be found working on new computer programs.
Dr. Theresa Caruso graduated from dental school at West Virginia University and completed a general practice residency at The Ohio State University. Dr. Caruso taught at WVU dental school as a clinical and academic instructor for three years prior, to completing her pediatric residency at the University of Rochester. Always smiling and ready with a kind word, Dr. Caruso is dedicated to helping children have a positive dental visit. She's been a part of Alpharetta Children's Dentistry for the past nine years. Dr. Caruso and her husband Marty have two children. Being with her family, whether traveling together or just hanging out at home, is her favorite leisure time activity.
Dr. J.C. Shirley attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He practiced general dentistry in the US Navy for three years before completing his pediatric training at Children's Hospital of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 1997, Dr. Shirley joined the Center for Craniofacial Disorders at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Hospital. He joined Alpharetta Children’s Dentistry in 2002 and divides his time between his hospital based practice and Alpharetta Children's Dentistry. Dr Shirley serves on numerous committees nationwide and is still involved with the US Navy. In his free time, he enjoys running, sailing, and travel.
Dr. Judy Christianson has been with Alpharetta Children's Dentistry for nearly six years. She grew up in Iowa and attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and completed her residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. The artistic side of dentistry is what interests Dr. Christianson and she loves the slower, more attentive approach offered at our practice. In her free time Dr. Christianson enjoys traveling, scuba diving and riding her motorcycle!
Dr. Monica Gupta is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia dental school. She practiced general dentistry for a year before attending the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston for her pediatric residency. Dr. Monica relates great with children as she is a big kid herself! She loves to sing with the kids to put them at ease. Dr. Monica has been with Alpharetta Children's Dentistry since 2006. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, traveling, painting, and spending time with her husband and friends.
Dr. Thomas Akins, a Georgia Institute of Technology graduate, worked as a mechanical engineer for nearly seven years before deciding to become a dentist. He attended dental school at the Medical College of Georgia where he also completed his pediatric residency. Dr. Thom has been with Alpharetta Children's Dentistry since July of 2007. He loves interacting with kids and is famous for his high fives. Dr. Thom enjoys spending time with his wife, Anna, and their two little girls.Â
Dr. Meaghan Kindregan was introduced to pediatric dentistry in high school while working for her dad, Dr. Mac. Following in his footsteps, Dr. Kindregan received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and even though she is a dedicated Georgia Bulldog fan, she completed her pediatric dental residency at the University of Florida! She and her husband, Patrick, a medical student, love spending time with their 2 year old daughter and golden retrievers, Catcher and Salsa.
