Dr. Goodman has practiced cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery since 1982. He has authored numerous articles, lectured at regional and national meetings, acted as prime investigator in several clinical investigations and has been a consultant to medical device companies. In his clinical practice, Dr. Goodman specializes in coronary revascularization and has the area's largest experience in minimally invasive off-pump CABG. His practice includes valve reconstructrion and replacement and all aspects of non-cardiac thoracic surgery. He has extensive experience with pacemakers and defibrillators. Dr. Goodman is board certifed through the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and is the current Section Chief of Cardiothoracic Medicine in the Department of Surgical Sepcialities at Providence Hospital.
Dr. Goodman is a clinical assistant professor, Wayne State University School of Medicine and serves on the teaching faculty in the Department of Surgery, Providence Hospital.
Dr. Goodman was recognized by his peers as one of the region's most respected cardiovascular surgeons in Hour Detroit magazine's Top Doc survey for 2005.
