Dr. Gary Chang has 15 years of experience in non-operative interventional diagnostic and therapeutic pain procedures to treat back and neck pain. He is board certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine, the American Academy of Pain Management, and the American Board of Anesthesiology. He has performed over 50,000 fluoroscopic guided interventional spinal procedures to treat neck and back pain. Dr. Changs extensive experience and breadth of abilities are unparalleled on the central coast.
He completed his undergraduate education at Loyola University in Los Angeles. Dr. Chang earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He next completed an internship at Harbor General - University of California in Carson where he also completed a residency in Anesthesiology. Dr. Gary Chang is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Pain Society, the California Society of Anesthesiologists and the International Spinal Injection Society. Throughout his professional career he has been involved in a variety of publications, lectures and presentations, including a presentation on Post-op Pain Management at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, Acupuncture in Pain Managementat the OR Nurses Association conference at San Pedro Hospital, and made presentations on Multidisciplinary Approach to Spine Care at Community Hospital of Monterey in 2008 and 2009. Dr. Gary Chang joined the musculoskeletal care team at Monterey Spine in 2007. The Monterey-based spine center attracts patients from a wide area, including residents in the cities of Salinas, Pebble Beach, Hollister, Carmel, Seaside, Marina, Del Monte, Pacific Grove and inland Northern California like Fresno and Clovis.
