Dr. Gary Steinberg specializes in urologic oncology. He has been instrumental in developing innovative surgical procedures for patients with bladder, kidney, testicular, and prostate cancers. In addition, Dr. Steinberg performs continent urinary reconstructions in men and women who have their bladders removed due to cancer. He also performs robotic assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomies.Dr. Steinberg's research includes developing newer treatments for urologic cancers, especially locally advanced bladder and kidney cancer. He is involved in a large number of clinical trials for patients with superficial and invasive bladder cancer and kidney cancer as well as studies identifying newer molecular markers for the detection of bladder cancer. He is the chairperson of the scientific advisory board of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network, as well as the editorial board of the journal Urology.
