Dr. Frederick Denstman specializes in colon and rectal surgery at the Helen Graham Cancer Center at Christiana Care Health System. He currently serves as a senior attending physician and as the assistant chief of the colon and rectal surgery section.
Dr. Denstman is a graduate of Rutgers University and the Hahnemann University Medical College, where he obtained his medical degree in 1979. He performed surgical residencies at both the Lehigh Valley Hospital Center and at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
His main areas of expertise include surgery for cancer of the colon and rectum, colonoscopy, as well as surgery for inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, and anorectal disease. He is especially interested in sphincter sparing surgery for low rectal cancer.
He holds board certification from the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Board of Surgery and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
