Faith Barnett, MD, PhD, is a neurosurgeon with expertise in the treatment of both benign and malignant brain tumors. She received her MD and PhD from Harvard Medical School, Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program. Dr. Barnett is fellowship trained in pediatric neurosurgery and has a special interest in the continuation of care for pediatric neurosurgical patients as they transition out of the pediatric age group. This includes patients with neurofibromatosis type I and II, von Hippel Lindau syndrome and Tuberous Sclerosis. Other clinical interests include stereotactic radiosurgery which deliver beams of high-dose radiation from multiple angles to precisely target and destroy tumors. In addition to patient care, Dr. Barnett has a research focus on immunotherapy of brain tumors, anti-angiogenic therapy and novel cell based cancer treatment. She is also active with the Society of Neuro-Oncology, the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Section on Tumors. Throughout her career Dr. Barnett has been the recipient of many honors and awards including the Max Tennis Humanitarian Award. She was also designated as a Skaggs Clinical Scholar by the Scripps Research Institute.
