With more than 100 publications and presentations, and multiple best author awards, Dr. Sugarman is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date and best-proven treatment methods for his patients from across the country who travel to the American Hip Institute for their treatment.

He graduated with honors from New York University and was inducted into the prestigious American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) after graduating at the top of his residency class in orthopaedic surgery. He then completed a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine surgery at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic and additional advanced training in hip arthroscopy, preservation and reconstruction with Dr. Benjamin Domb, founder of the American Hip Institute. After nearly a decade of serving as clinical and educational faculty at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, Dr. Sugarman chose to join the American Hip Institute.
