Dr. Kaplan is a specialist in adolescent medicine, but also enjoys the broad range of pediatrics practice. He received his medical training at SUNY-Downstate Medial Center in Brooklyn, NY and served his pediatric residency at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center where he also completed his fellowship training in adolescent medicine.
He has been a pediatrician at Greater Lowell Pediatrics since 1977 when he joined Dr. Gilbert Cogan. He is a managing partner and has been President of the group since 1995. He was a pediatrician at the Teen Health Clinic at Saints Medical Center for 20 years and also on the staff of the teen clinic at Lowell High School.
Dr Kaplan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics. He is on the medical staff at Lowell General Hospital and Saints Medical Center. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the American College of Physician Executives. Dr. Kaplan, a native of Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School, now resides in Chelmsford where he has been the town and school physician for many years.
Some of Dr. Kaplan’s favorite things, other than caring for his terrific patients, are spending time with wife, children and his Havanese dog, Willy. He also enjo0ys collecting are and antiques, watching the boats go by in Gloucester, and attending Red sox games.
