Even though our pathologists rarely have any direct contact with our patients, they provide services that significantly impact patient care. Nearly every disease relies on laboratory tests or tissue sampling, and the pathologist is the physician responsible for overseeing the performance of those tests. They are also directly involved in the diagnosis of disease. Triple board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and cytopathology, Dr. Martin understands the importance of her contributions to our health care team. And despite the fact that she works behind-the-scenes, her attention always remains focused on the needs of our patients.
