Ed A. Crisostomo, M.D. is a Board Certified clinical neurologist with advanced training and expertise in cerebrovascular diseases (stroke). Dr. Crisostomos undergraduate studies (magna cum laude), medical school training, internship and the beginning of his neurology residence all occurred within the facilities of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. He completed his residency training at the Albany Medical Center in New York and followed that with a two-year fellowship in cerebrovascular disease research at the Duke University Department of Medicine (Neurology) in Durham, NC. He has done basic research on brain injury and recovery using receptor pharmacology and MRI spectroscopy. He has been the Chief of Neurology for St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth since 2003. His research on strokes has resulted in the publication of many articles in the scientific literature and any number of leadership positions in groups devoted to treating cerebrovascular disease.
