Dr. Stokes earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He served his transitional internship at Greenville Memorial Hospital and his residency in ophthalmology at Vanderbilt University. He then completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the University of Florida prior to joining Southern Eye Associates in 1993. Dr. Stokes is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a native of South Carolina and is married with two children. Dr. Stokes is past president of the Greenville County Medical Society.
