Dr. Wender received his medical degree from Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Health Center. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Iowa Oncology Society and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is board-certified in medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and currently serves as principal investigator in the North Central Cancer Treatment Group, a national clinical research group sponsored by the National Cancer Institute.
