Brief Intro

I attended medical school of The University of the West Indies, Jamaica and all my post-graduate training in psychiatry ( Adult and Child and Adolescent ) was at Harlem Hospital Center in New York. I have been practicing psychiatry in the USA since 2000. In my practice I treat adults, children and adolescents. I also provide couples therapy, individual therapy and family therapy. I provide a safe and private environment and I pride myself in being a good listener. I take great care to take a good history from my patients, and I certainly do not rush to a hastily diagnose any illness. I am particularly aware that many patients have a lot of reservations about being on medications so I spend time explaining why it may be necessary and all the implications. The role of psychotherapy or talk therapy is always emphasized and actively encouraged.
