David Litoff, MD, serves as the Chief Medical Officer for ICON Eyecare. Dr. Litoff is a corneal specialist and surgeon specializing in both cataract surgery and refractive surgery.
He has been with Kaiser Permanente since 1999 as a corneal specialist and general ophthalmologist. During his career, Dr. Litoff has held numerous leadership positions, beginning as the Regional Department Chief of Ophthalmology before moving to Surgical Operations Chief.
He has also served as the Medical Director for Surgical Care Delivery.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Dr. Litoff completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Connecticut. His ophthalmology residency took place at Albany Medical Center Hospital in New York, before finishing a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
Dr. Litoff has participated in extensive leadership training during his career, most notably the Executive leadership Program at Harvard University. Dr. Litoff is a Diplomate with the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has been published in more than 20 publications. Dr. Litoff has also held an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado in Ophthalmology and is on the volunteer faculty for Denver Health.
Dr. Litoff and his wife, Julie, are the proud parents of two children in college. In his free time, Dr. Litoff enjoys hiking in the Colorado mountains and distance running.
He also pursues some unique hobbies which have been passions throughout his life: beekeeping and raising alpacas. Ask him about these during your appointment and you’re sure to get a lively and interesting response!
