My goal is to provide compassionate, excellent health care. We have made great progress in treating patients with heart diseases, but I still believe that the key is prevention. I particularly enjoy caring for patients with coronary heart disease, heart valve problems, and heart failure. I am also interested in less common problems such as Marfan syndrome, pulmonary hypertension, and heart disease complicating pregnancy. I have been very active in medical education and research during my 15 years at the University of Minnesota. In my spare time I enjoy my family, gardening, running, cross country skiing, and camping.
