Dr. Cowart is a native of Helena, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate studies at University of South Alabama and her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Cowart serves as the Sport Medicine Fellowship Director at the UAB School of Medicine in Huntsville and is board certified in both Sport Medicine and Family Medicine. She served as Medical Director for the Rocket City Marathon and the Cotton Row Run in Huntsville. She is team physician for University of Alabama Huntsville, Alabama A&M University, Columbia High School and the local arena football team, the Huntsville Vipers. Dr. Cowart, an athlete herself, has a specialty and expertise in running and female athletic injuries.
