Dr. Darin Awaya was born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii. He graduated from 'Iolani School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his medical school education and general surgery residency program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, John A. Burns School of Medicine. Dr. Awaya then finished his research fellowship at the Straub Foundation of Orthopedic Research. He pursued residency and fellowship training for orthopedic spine surgery at the University of California, Davis.
