Dr. Courtland Lewis completed his general surgery internship and his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Maryland Hospital where he served as chief resident in 1984. He was a fellow in adult reconstruction and arthritis surgery at Johns Hopkins University, completing his training in 1985.
Dr. Lewis was on the full time faculty of the UConn School of Medicine for fifteen years, and was promoted to the rank of Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery. He was the director of the UConn Orthopaedic Residency Program for many years. He is currently Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery on the volunteer faculty of the School of Medicine.
In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Lewis is the Director of Research for the CJRI and responsible for overseeing the clinical research and outcomes improvement efforts of the Institute.
