Brief Intro

Clay Paul Goins, D.D.S.    Dr. Clay is a native of Chattanooga.  He received the prestigious Presidential Scholarship to attend Murry State University, where he played club soccer for the Racers.  Go Big Blue!  He then attended dental school at the University of Tennessee, where he earned his doctorate of dental surgery degree and graduated with high honors in 2003. While in dental school, he served as the president of the Richard Dogget Dean Honor Society. Dr. Clay then chose to complete his pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Kentucky and Kosair Children’s Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year.    In order to stay up-to-date on all the latest advancements in the field of pediatric dentistry, Dr. Clay maintains active memberships in numerous prestigious professional organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Chattanooga Area Dental Society. Currently he is the president of the Lookout Dental Study Club here in Chattanooga.  He is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.    Dr. Clay and his wife, Kelly, met in middle school. They are big University of Tennessee athletics fans! Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Clay spending most of his time with his son, Lukas, who was born July 8, 2009.  They have a chocolate lab named Peyton.  You may have seen Peyton's picture painted into the office murals.  Dr. Clay enjoys playing and coaching soccer, volunteering on mission trips, hiking, backpacking, and running with Peyton.
