Brief Intro

Dr. Christina Nguyen received her undergraduate education at the University of Georgia and her medical school education at the Medical College of Georgia. She joined Northeast Georgia Physicians Group in 2007 and is currently practicing obesity medicine at NGPG Chestnut Mountain and NGPG Bariatric & Metabolic Institute Gainesville. She was recognized in Atlanta Magazine 2020 and 2021 Top Doctor's List for Bariatric Weight Loss. She is also the NGHS Obesity Medicine Medical Director. She is board certified in both family medicine and obesity medicine. Dr. Nguyen recognizes that obesity is a chronic, multi-factorial disease and when obesity is treated first, the co-morbidities will improve. Her treatment goals for her patients is to prevent weight gain, assist with weight loss, promote long term weight maintenance, and reinforce adherence to lifestyle and behavioral changes. Dr. Nguyen uses evidence-based medicine to treat obesity with FDA approved pharmacotherapy, a dietician, and a behavioral health specialist to provide a comprehensive weight loss program. She wants each of her patients to be the best versions of themselves. Dr. Nguyen is married to Dr. Alex Nguyen of NGPG Surgical Associates. They love spending time with their 4 children, chocolate lab, and husky puppy. Dr. Nguyen is fluent in English and Vietnamese.
