Brief Intro

Christina Cervieri, MD, joined the team at Advanced Pain Medicine Institute in Chevy Chase and Greenbelt, Maryland, as the medical director of APMI Ortho Sports in January 2019. Her expertise as an orthopedic surgeon is unmatched and brings a wealth of experience to the team. Dr. Cervieri has an educational background that reflects her many passions and talents. At Yale, she studied philosophy. Later, she moved to Italy to study art. Finally, she began pursuing medicine, receiving her Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Los Angeles and training as a general surgeon at the University of California, San Francisco. After completing her training, Dr. Cervieri returned to New York City, where she completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital. From there, she moved yet again, this time to Birmingham, Alabama, where she completed a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy. In addition to her work at APMI Ortho Sports, Dr. Cervieri works as a US Figure Skating team doctor. When she’s not hard at work, Dr. Cervieri enjoys working in her garden, practicing yoga, and photography. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.
