Dr. Charlotte Akor is a board certified ophthalmologist, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Dr. Akor has been performing adult cataract surgery, strabismus surgery, eyelid and lacrimal surgery since 2006. Dr. Akor is the only full time fellowship trained pediatric ophthalmologist in Taylor County and West Texas. Until 2012, she served as the head of the Pediatric Ophthalmology on the faculty of The University of Texas at Houston Health Sciences Center. Dr. Akor is active in vision research. She recently contributed to the book Complications of Glaucoma Surgery. Dr. Akor is excited to practice comprehensive and pediatric ophthalmology at the Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
