My primary goal is to provide excellent care and guidance to patients. Humor is a tool that I use to connect with my patients and their families is humor. If I can get an anxious parent or child to laugh, I can make them feel more comfortable during a visit.
In January 2023, I joined the St. Luke’s Family. I have been practicing pediatrics in Warren County for more than 20 years. Honestly, I must admit that I did not choose pediatrics. It chose me. One day while doing my pediatric rotation in medical school, I was approached by a little one whose treatment t I was assigned. Just before leaving his room, he hugged my leg and said, “Thank you!” From that moment on, I was sold on caring for the pediatric population.
I am a board-certified pediatrician who graduated from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1997. I completed my pediatric residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in 2000. Since then, I have had a wonderful career. My journey includes many years in private practice, serving as the medical director of various organizations and mentoring residents and many other students. I even wrote a published research paper, “Efficacy and Safety of a Colic Relief Remedy in Infantile Colic.” Global Pediatric Health, Vol. 9:1-7, April 27, 2022.
Most importantly, I credit my wife, Ileana Ortiz-Evans, MD, and my two daughters, Jada and Jasmine, for all their support throughout the years.
