"I believe that patients are active participants in their own care. To make that easier, I spend a lot of time teaching patients about their disease, explaining their options and answering questions."
I earned my medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Ill. I completed my residency at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Minneapolis and my fellowship at the University of Rochester in New York. I am board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology.
My special interests include breast cancer, lymphoma and myeloma (including related disorders, such as amyloidosis and Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia), cancer genetics and risk management, and also benign hematology. With special training in cancer genetics and risk management, I also teach medical students at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
I am fortunate to have a wonderful wife, two married daughters, and grandchildren. In my free-time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, photography and grilling (all year round).
