Brief Intro

"I believe that patients are active participants in their own care. To make that easier, I spend a lot of time teaching patients about their disease, explaining their options and answering questions." I earned my medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Ill. I completed my residency at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Minneapolis and my fellowship at the University of Rochester in New York. I am board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. My special interests include breast cancer, lymphoma and myeloma (including related disorders, such as amyloidosis and Waldenstromâ€™s macroglobulinemia), cancer genetics and risk management, and also benign hematology. With special training in cancer genetics and risk management, I also teach medical students at the Medical College of Wisconsin. I am fortunate to have a wonderful wife, two married daughters, and grandchildren. In my free-time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, photography and grilling (all year round).
