Champ Baker, Jr., received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Louisiana State University. He completed his residency through Letterman Army Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Children in addition to a sports medicine fellowship at the Hughston Foundation.
Dr. Baker is Chairman of the Board of the Hughston Foundation and served as president of the Hughston Clinic from 1994 until 2000.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Baker has been active in many professional societies. He has also served as the team physician for numerous local and regional athletic teams, and is currently the team physician for Columbus State University.
Dr. Baker’s specialties include sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He was the recent recipient of two prestigious awards in orthopaedics, the Robert E. Leach, M.D., "Mr. Sports Medicine" Award and the George D. Rovere, M.D., Award.
