Dr. Fiftal grew up in No. Babylon, NY, attending Holy Family High School. She went on to the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where she graduated with a B.A. in Biology Pre-Med. Following college Dr. Fiftal worked as a Research Assistant for two years in the Department of Cardiology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical School in New York, NY studying the effect of ganglionic blockade on cardiac norepinephrine release. Dr. Fiftal then attended Georgetown Medical School in Washington, DC, followed by her Internship and Residency in Pediatrics, all at Georgetown Medical School. Dr. Fiftal met her husband while working in New York City and was married after her first year of medical school. Then, after an additional year in Washington, DC, Dr. Fiftal and her family moved to Mystic, CT where her husband had grown up. She has lived there ever since with her husband and three children. Dr. Fiftal enjoys running, skiing and gardening.
