Carlos Sabogal, MD, is the chief of the Pediatric Pulmonology Specialty Practice for Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He was born in Lima, Peru and attended Medical School at Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal, Lima, graduating in 1991. He completed Pediatric Residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Fla., in 1996. Dr. Sabogal spent four years at the University of Miami as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. He participated in clinical research of risk factors for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in obese Hispanic children. He also collaborated in developmental research at the Early Intervention Program within the University of Miami. Dr. Sabogal did his fellowship at the University of Miami/Division of Pediatric Pulmonology. During his fellowship he did research in Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), apnea and the use of Synagis. He was distinguished with the fellow research award in the year 2001, and the fellow of the year award in 2002 at University of Miami.
