Dr. C. Steven Powell is a vascular surgeon at the East Carolina Heart Institute, where he's cared for the people of eastern North Carolina for more than 35 years. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions like aneurysm, atherosclerosis, peripheral vascular disease, foot ulceration and gangrene, renal vascular disease, deep vein thrombosis and more. Dr. Powell completed his medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine before pursuing a General Surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Oschner Foundation Hospital. "When it comes to patient care, my top priority is education. When you fully understand your condition and its impacts, it's much easier to work towards better health." Outside of work, Dr. Powell likes to spend his time on the golf course or reading a good book.
