Board certified orthopaedic surgeon, serves as the current chairman of St. Nicholas Hospital Department of Surgery. Dr. Van Dommelen obtained his pre-medical education at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan for his medical education and completed his orthopaedic residency at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Van Dommelen went on to complete a sports medicine fellowship at the University Hospital, London, Ontario, Canada. He has been providing orthopaedic care in the Sheboygan area since 1987. His areas of interest include knee ligament reconstructive surgery, specializing in hamstring ACL; total joint replacement, including the minimally invasive hip and knee; operative and non-operative management of hand, foot, knee and shoulder conditions; arthroscopic surgeries, specializing in arthroscopic shoulder surgery; and sports medicine.
