Bruce Burton, D.M.D.
Dr. Burton has been setting the standards for high quality dental care in Hood River, Oregon since 1980. Having graduated from Healdsburg High School in Northern California and Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, he attended the University of Oregon Dental School (now OHSU), for his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He also completed a two-year program in orthodontics at the U.S. Dental Institute and a three-year advanced restorative dentistry course at the University of Washington. In addition, Dr. Burton completed 300 hours of continuing education courses in implant dentistry with the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry and passed the national test for American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Burton has participated in programs regarding oral healthcare for children, and has lectured across the country to dentists on “Finding Your Leadership Voiceâ€. He has also published a number of research articles on various dental topics.
Dr. Burton is Board Certified by the American Board of General Dentistry and is a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry. To stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of dentistry, he maintains memberships with numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Mid-Columbia Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry (served as national president and other offices), American Orthodontic Society, American Society of Anesthesiology, Academy of Dentistry International, Hispanic Dental Association and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
He is also active in his community, having served as the past president of the Academy of General Dentistry Foundation (2003), volunteered with Hood River Rotary and Elks Foundations and volunteers as a football coach at Hood River Valley High School for over 25 years. During his leisure time, he enjoys gardening and coaching football.
