Brittany A. Olsen, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Orthopedic Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Olsen’s clinical focus is in shoulder and sports medicine. She specializes in operative and nonoperative management of shoulder, hip, knee and ankle conditions including ligamentous reconstruction of the knee, cartilage repair, meniscal pathology, rotator cuff pathology and shoulder instability. She also specializes in arthroscopic surgeries of the shoulder and knee as well as total and reverse shoulder replacements.After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in nutrition, foods and exercise science from Virginia Tech in 2012, Dr. Olsen earned her Doctor of Medicine at Stony Brook Medical School in 2016. She then completed a general surgery preliminary residency program at Duke Department of Surgery in 2017 before completing her orthopedic residency at Montefiore Einstein in 2022. In 2023, Dr. Olsen completed a sports medicine and shoulder fellowship at UTHealth Houston.Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Olsen is interested in a range of shoulder pathology including total and reverse total shoulder replacement. She is also interested in research revolving around ligamentous reconstruction of the knee. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed publications and numerous poster exhibits and podium presentations.Dr. Olsen is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
