Bhavna Lal, PsyD, is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in treating individuals who have experienced trauma and interpersonal violence. Dr. Lal is highly experienced in working with people from all backgrounds, orientations, and walks of life, with many presenting problems. She has helped individuals successfully work through issues related to phobias, schizophrenia, gender/sexual orientation,anxiety, depression, abuse, erectile dysfunction, chronic pain issues,mindfulness, stress management, and attention-related disorders, among others. Dr. Lal hasworked and trained in a variety of clinical settings, including forensic psychiatric hospitals, community mental health clinics, women’s shelters, jails, and inpatient hospitals. She is fluent in both English and Hindi, with some fluency in Punjabi and Urdu. Dr. Lal firmly believes that every individual is already equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to overcome whatever problem they are facing, but often need help tweaking those skills to meet their current needs. She also believes that a key component to therapy is the relationship between the client and the clinician. As such, Dr. Lal strives to help build a relationship based on equality, trust, and safety in order to help each client reach their goals.
