Meet Dr. Bernard V. Schuurmans Bernie grew up in Tyndall, SD. Bernie also received his undergraduate education at the University of South Dakota and received his dental degree at the University of Nebraska. Following Bernie's dental school, he was a dentist in the U.S. Army at West Point, NY. He honorably fulfilled a career in the Army Guards and achieved the rank of Colonel! Bernie has been providing dentistry to the residents of the Madison Area since 1978. He will tell you he is "semi-retired", but he is still practicing dentistry at least 2 days per week here at Madison Family Dental. Bernie and his wife Terri have 5 children (Amy, Jesse, Beth, Tyler, and Tanner). In his free time, Bernie enjoys boating, cycling, wood carving, hunting, traveling, and spending time with his kids and grand kids.
