Benjamin White, M.D. received his undergraduate degree in physics suma cum laude from the University of Oklahoma in 1990. He attended the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine in 1994. Dr. White completed an internship and residency in neurological surgery at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 2000. During this time he completed subspecialty training in complex spinal surgery.
Dr. White served as Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine from 2000 until 2007. During his tenure at the University he was integrally involved in resident education, clinical and basic science research, as well as having an active clinical practice. He is regarded as an expert in degenerative conditions of the spine and has served as invited moderator and speaker at many national and international neurosurgical meetings.
Dr. White is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He specializes in complex spinal surgery including herniated discs, spinal reconstruction, deformity correction, and spinal fusion and instrumentation. Dr. White also has an interest in intracranial surgery including microsurgery of intracranial vascular lesions including aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations.
Dr. White holds multiple professional memberships including the American Medical Association, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Oklahoma State Medical Association. Dr. White is active at the local, national and international level in the neurosurgical community having served on multiple committees including the scientific program committees of both the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He also served as the chair of the International Advisory Committee of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
