Dr. Armondo Lopez received his medical degree from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota and did his internship at the Clinica San Pedro Claver in Bogota where he was named Best Intern. Following his internship he served as a rural physician in El Centro Santander, Colombia. He completed his residency in urology at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Lopez was a staff urologist at North Country Hospital in Newport, VT from 2002 to 2007 before he moved to Massachusetts to join Bay State Affiliated Medical Practices. We are happy to be back in Vermont living in a small town, said Dr. Lopez. My wife grew up in New Hampshire and I worked in Newport, VT for five years. I like the people in Vermont and the lifestyle. Dr. Lopez, his wife Carolyn, and their four children live in Berlin. We love kids, he commented. We have four children: Natalie, age 14; Diego, age 12; Ricky, age 11: and our youngest, Samantha, age 5, who we adopted from China. Dr. Lopez and his four children are musicians. I have three violinists and a cellist who recently joined the Green Mountain Youth Symphony. I play cello and piano. Dr. Lopez is also a chess player and former youth champion of Colombia.
