I graduated from Duke University magna cum laude and then did my pre-medical coursework at Columbia University in NYC. I trained in university-affiliated hospitals and did my fellowship in Maternal/Child Health at Brown Medical School in Rhode Island. Being of Latin background, I am fully bi-lingual in English and Spanish. I have a keen understanding of the cross-cultural issues in medicine and am interested in the anthropology of medicine as well. I have travelled and worked extensively in Latin America.
