Alison Lohman DDS Dr. Alison Lohman was born and raised in South China, Maine. She is a 1982 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Zoology with High Distinction. In 1993 Dr. Lohman, her husband and two children moved to North Carolina for her to attend dental school. She graduated from the UNC School of Dentistry in 1997 receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with Honors. She then completed a two year General Practice Residency at UNC Hospitals following graduation. Dr. Lohman served as a visiting assistant professor in the Geriatric Special Care Clinic at the UNC School of Dentistry from 1999-2000 where she provided clinical instruction for dental students and provided general dental services. Dr. Lohman served as the clinic director in the General and Oral Health Center at the UNC School of dentistry from 2000-2003. While at the GO Health Center she provided general dental services for research participants and performed clinical research related to periodontal disease and its implications for general health. Currently, Dr. Lohman enjoys private practice at her office in Chapel Hill. During her free time she spends time with her family and numerous pets. She enjoys cycling, gardening, bird watching and music. Dr. Lohman welcomes patients of all ages and provides preventive, restorative and cosmetic services. She prides herself in attention to detail and genuine interest in her patients' dental health. She currently welcomes new patients.
