Dr. Alexander Wittenberg is a board-certified adult psychiatrist. He offers highly individualized and empathic treatment with a primary focus on medication management. In addition, Dr. Wittenberg may recommend the addition of a therapist as part of your treatment plan.
Dr. Wittenberg aims to create a collaborative, patient-centered, and non-judgmental treatment environment to help foster the development of a meaningful therapeutic relationship. As chief resident at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, he gained additional experience working in an outpatient setting and helped manage patient care in one of the busiest clinics in New York City.
Dr. Wittenberg has expertise in treating numerous mental health conditions, including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, trauma and stressor-related disorders, and OCD. He is also devoted to a holistic approach because he understands that good health includes relief from symptoms and a sense of overall well-being. To reach one's goals, he encourages the discussion of mindfulness, self-compassion, exercise, nutrition, and interpersonal relationships.
He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, majoring in Human Biology, Health, and Society. He then received his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was a member of the Psi Sigma Alpha Osteopathic Honor Society.
