Adekunle Adekola, MD, graduated from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1997 where he became a research assistant and apprentice before becoming House Officer at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Lagos, Nigeria. Dr. Adekola served as a civilian doctor in the Nigerian Air Force for one year and completed his internship and residency at the Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 2005.
Dr. Adekola has completed two fellowships, one in Pulmonary Disease at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. and the other in Critical Care Medicine at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, N.Y. He is board certified in three areas of medicine, receiving his certifications in internal medicine in 2004, pulmonary medicine in 2007 and critical care in 2009. He is on staff at the Medical Center of Lewisville.
Dr. Adekola's special interests include respiratory failure and sepsis and enjoys the daily challenge of helping his patients with their health.
Outside the practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife, meeting people, watching professional basketball and playing soccer.
