Practicing dentistry for more than 25 years, Dr. Alan D. Yount has the knowledge and skill that only an experienced family dentist can provide. A caring, dedicated professional who has been serving the residents of Alabama for more than two decades, he has helped over 10,000 people have healthy, attractive smiles by providing the comprehensive, top-quality dental care you and your family deserve.
Dr. Yount says, “I have always enjoyed working with my hands, and dentistry is about as hands-on as it gets! The added plus is being around patients and the joy we all receive helping others.” The doctor thrives on the artistic and engineering challenges of crafting beautiful crowns, bridges, and dentures while maintaining the patient’s optimal occlusion, or bite.
Education
Dr. Yount graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in biology and a minor in chemistry, with undeclared minors in accounting and English. He continued his education at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where he earned a DMD. He has undertaken continuing education at the Center for Advanced Dental Studies, The Dawson Academy, and through Dawson study clubs. He is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.
