While Methodist has grown and medicine has changed during Nielsen's time here, some things have stayed the same. "When I came to Methodist in 2001, it was refreshing that all the staff always had a smile and were extremely helpful," she said. "It has remained unchanged throughout the years." When she's not working, Nielsen enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves sports, running, horses, swimming and boating. She also loves Great Danes and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Her favorite colors are black and gold.
